Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

60-90 minutes: $80-$100

Neuromuscular therapy (NMT)  is a precise, thorough examination and treatment of the body’s soft tissue therapy concerned with the nervous system and its effect on the muscular and skeletal systems, that uses pressure  on specific myofascial points, kenesiology and biomechanics relieve pain.  It is a time-tested, hands-on technique that is built upon a science-based foundation, guided by clinical evidence, and frequently used in modern medicine.

NMT does more than just treat the afflicted area, it considers and treats factors that may be the underlying cause of pain and discomfort. It utilizes therapeutic massage, motion education, and weightless techniques to create a personalized treatment. For example, a pain in your shoulder may be the result of tight muscles, poor posture, poor emotional wellbeing, or allergies amongst other things. By understanding the root cause and using multiple methods, we are able to develop and implement the best approach to aid each person on a personal basis.

It is important to understand that when rehabilitating injured soft tissues, certain steps should be followed and a proper order established to insure the fastest possible recovery without re-injury.

1. Eliminate spasms and hyper contraction in the tissues

2. Restore proper body mechanics

3. Restore flexibility to the tissues

4. Rebuild the strength of the injured tissues

5. Rebuild endurance

Failure to follow this order usually results in re-injury and/or setbacks. Treatments can be from three to ten treatment sessions depending on the severity of structural dysfunction, with a thirty minute consoltation  on the fist visit.  Clothing must be worn, i.e. men: shorts (swim trunks, recreational shorts, etc, NOT JUST UNDERWEAR, please do not wear only briefs) women: one or two piece bathing suit, workout clothing, shorts/t-shirt

It is highly recommended that you consult with your primary care physician before this and all other treatment listed for services, as there may be conditions that may require a release from Dr. as conditions may very from person to person.

Failure on the part of the client(s) to follow treatment plan is not the responsibility of therapist.  It is the sole responsibility of every client to maintain proper body maintenance in between sessions in order to achieve healing, i.e., maintain proper diet and exercise regiment, attend all appointments, and immediately communicate any and all concerns, changes (good or bad) in the body due to treatment or non-compliance and remain in constant contact with medical Doctor.  RESULTS VARY FROM PERSON TO PERSON.  FOCUS ON YOUR OWN TREATMENT NOT SOMEONE ELSE'S!

Please see the NMT Info under Helpful Forms for more information.

Services are in duration per session 60 min $80.00; 90 min $100.00; or 60 minute series (3 sessions) $230; 90 minute series (3 sessions) $280

Hand and Foot Reflexology

30 minutes: $45

What is a reflexology massage?

Reflexology is a type of massage that involves applying different amounts of pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet and hands.  It’s based on a theory that these body parts are connected to certain organs and body systems.  A far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body, unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves.
Every part of the human body is mapped into your feet, according to reflexology.
Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions  such as allergies, headaches, and depression.

Quick Tune-up

30 minutes: $45

Neck and Shoulders only.

How Quick NMT Tune-up massage therapy can help with shoulder and neck pain?

If you know anything about the rehabilitative powers of massage, you'll already know that massage therapy has a track record of helping improve pain and discomfort, aiding in injury and recovery, and is even often used in medical settings to alleviate discomfort and improve blood circulation in ill or injured patients.

And in a more everyday context, massage therapy is a proven stress-buster:  reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and boost your overall emotional well-being.  Plus, massage therapy is an incredibly common solution for shoulder and neck pain - So how does it actually help?

Reduces stress

We carry a lot of our emotional stress in our bodies, but most particularly in our shoulders and necks; this is why tension headaches are so closely linked to shoulder pain. With a relaxing, professional massage, you'll be able to get rid of some of your built-up stress - much of which can contribute to ongoing neck and shoulder pain.

Reduces tension and stiffness

Having a stiff neck can impact your day-to-day activities, while also causing immense discomfort. Neck massages can help to reduce this stiffness by releasing tension, thus not only improving your emotional state but also relieving physical symptoms of stress.

Get rid of a pinched nerve

A pinched nerve in your neck is more than just an irritant; pinched nerves can become incredibly painful over time, and can even impact your mobility. By reducing inflammation, pressure, and tension around your neck, a massage can get rid of a pinched nerve and offer relief from pain and discomfort.

Improves circulation

Massages also work to improve circulation and blood flow, which helps to reduce muscle inflammation over time, so if the muscles around your neck and shoulder are inflamed due to overuse or injury, massage therapy can help provide relief. In addition to this, improved circulation is also linked to overall better health, skin, and bodily function - so it's a win, win, win!

For those experiencing ongoing shoulder and neck pain, a Swedish massage is likely the most effective form of massage therapy. Swedish massages are designed to lengthen the muscles using long, gentle strokes, helping to reduce tension and improve circulation.
